Blue Heron Retreat is a new home community coming soon to the North Myrtle Beach/Little River area. The Blue Heron Retreat is being developed on an approximate 65-acre parcel of land that runs along the Intracoastal Waterway close to the Robert Edge Parkway. The overall location of Blue Heron Retreat is extremely convenient for travel around the Myrtle Beach area as the Highway 31 Interchange is only a couple of minutes away.

Ashton Woods is the builder in Blue Heron Retreat. Ashton Woods is an award-winning luxury home builder. Perhaps relatively new to the Myrtle Beach area, but Ashton Woods began building homes in 1989 and now Ashton Woods is building design-forward homes in thoughtfully selected communities across the country. Ashton Woods is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, but sells new homes in not only the Myrtle Beach area, but also in Atlanta, Austin, Charleston, Dallas, Houston, Orlando, Phoenix, Raleigh and San Antonio. In 2017, Ashton Woods launched Starlight Homes for those who always felt the dream of home ownership was just out of reach. Now, over 50,000 families have had the privilege of calling an Ashton Woods or Starlight home their own.

Ashton Woods is currently building homes in Trieste at Bella Vita in Carolina Forest, in Andalusia in Longs (Starlight Homes) and in Plantersfield in Conway (Starlight Homes).

Preliminary plans indicate approximately 74 single family homes (Blue Heron Retreat: Oasis Series) – 65 of which will be Intracoastal Waterway sites. In addition, preliminary plans are indicating an additional 210 villas (Blue Heron Retreat: Villas) – some with pond views. Future community amenities in Blue Heron Retreat will be a swimming pool, pickleball courts and a day dock on the Intracoastal Waterway.

At Blue Heron Retreat, homeowners will discover thoughtfully-crafted villas perfect for downsizing or growing families alike. Home options will include a study and an additional upstairs bedroom and you can customize these homes to fit your needs. Plus, homeowners can add a personal touch with curated design options from The Collections by Ashton Woods.

As of January 2025, land development is well underway.

Preliminary plans are for Ashton Woods to be opening up for sales in Blue Heron Retreat sometime in April 2025.

Ashton Woods has not yet announced pricing for the Blue Heron Retreat Villas or the Blue Heron Retreat: Oasis Series single family homes.
